  • Cindy Jennings

    Cynthia Jennings, PMA-CPT A Pittsburgh native, Cindy has built a career from her life long passion for dance and movement. Throughout her life, she has channeled this passion as a dance instructor at various local studios; as costume mistress and studio manager for Pittsburgh Youth Ballet; and as costume designer and board member for Texture Contemporary Ballet. Upon recovering from a serious illness, Cindy was inspired by the dramatic changes Pilates made in her own body, leading her to complete her teacher training. When she's not in the studio, Cindy enjoys attending ballet and musical theater performances, traveling, kayaking and camping. Above all else, she values spending quality time with her husband, three adult children, and two family dogs.

    I discovered reformer Pilates in 2008. After the birth of my first child I developed sciatica issues and needed an exercise method that could lengthen and tone, as well as stretch. A lifetime of gymnastics, cheerleading, and diving has taken a toll on my joints so low impact was my goal. I immediately fell in love with the reformer! I took my Instructor certificate course in 2011. I have been teaching on and off ever since! I love that Pilates is available for all fitness levels and is continually challenging! Outside of Pilates I enjoy traveling, spending time with my 3 kids, and my French Bulldog, Baxter!

    I spent the majority of my life as a dancer, and continued this throughout my years in college at Point Park University. While at Point Park, I was introduced to Pilates - and I was hooked!! In addition to Pilates and dance, I enjoy running and have run several marathons. After my youngest went into school, I decided to pursue my certification in Pilates so that I could help others fall in love with Pilates too! When I’m not in the Pilates studio you can find my hanging out with my husband, Kris, and our four children, Braden, Cade, Drake and Emma.

    An experienced teaching professional, Janna holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from West Virginia University and a Master's degree in Education from West Chester University. She is a certified personal trainer through National Strength and Professionals Association (NSPA) and completed her comprehensive Pilates training and certification through PHI becoming an instructor in 2011. Janna's personal commitment to a healthy lifestyle led her to Pilates over a decade ago and has inspired her to combine her love of teaching and fitness to motivate others. She is a dedicated mother of two children, Alexa and Mason and spending time with them is her favorite thing to do!

    Being a lifelong fitness enthusiast, Mari Jo found that Pilates was the one type of exercise that could be continued throughout life without risking injury and developing strength and flexibility that she never found in other methods. The precision and control required to perform the movements made a huge difference in seeing results. After raising her three kids, she decided to open Club Pilates South Hills and completed her Pilates comprehensive training. Her goal is to help make Pilates accessible to everyone in the community. Mari Jo loves to travel, play tennis and spend time with family and friends when she's not at the studio.

    I discovered Pilates in 2002 after moving out of the country and realized my morning runs were no longer an option. I purchased a reformer and studied Joseph Pilates and his method. I fell in love with Pilates! After a year of self practice, I began taking private lessons with a former Austrian ballerina who was classically trained and 2nd Generation Master Pilates Teacher certified. I gained a deep appreciation for what Pilates can do for your mind and body through blending low impact strength training and breath connection for full body fitness. I completed Mat certification through Power Pilates and my comprehensive Pilates certification through Club Pilates. I am working towards achieving my PMA certification in 2020. Outside of Pilates, I enjoy traveling, hiking and most of all spending time with my family.
